Overview
The Expenses module lets studios and independent instructors record business expenses in DanceFlow.
This helps reports and P&L views show a more truthful picture of business activity.
Common expenses
Examples include:
- Floor fees paid to another studio
- Rent
- Supplies
- Event costs
- Marketing expenses
- Contractor or professional fees
- Other business expenses
Floor fee expenses
Floor fees can mean different things depending on the business.
For an independent instructor renting space, a floor fee paid to another studio is an expense.
For a studio renting out its own space, floor rental fees collected are revenue.
DanceFlow separates these perspectives so floor fees are not blended into generic payments.
Add an expense
1. Open Expenses.
2. Add a new expense.
3. Enter the date, amount, category, vendor or studio name, and notes.
4. Save the expense.
Use clear descriptions so the expense is easy to understand later.
Best practice
Enter expenses as close to the actual expense date as possible. This helps monthly and year-to-date reporting stay accurate.
