Letting Portal Clients Request Lesson Times

Learn how existing clients can request lesson times from the client portal.

Overview

Portal schedule requests let existing clients ask for a preferred lesson time from their portal.

This is not instant booking. The studio still reviews and approves the request before an appointment appears on the schedule.

How clients submit a request

A portal client goes to the schedule area of the client portal and completes the request form.

The request may include:

  • Preferred date
  • Preferred time
  • Lesson type
  • Notes for the studio

How staff handles the request

Staff reviews portal schedule requests from Schedule > Requests.

A portal request is labeled separately from a public intro request so the team can understand where it came from.

Why this is useful

Portal schedule requests reduce back-and-forth messaging while keeping the studio in control.

Clients can communicate preferred times, and staff can approve only the times that work for the instructor, room, and studio calendar.

Best practice

Use portal schedule requests for existing clients who already understand your studio process. Keep instant booking disabled until your studio has clear availability rules and approval workflows in place.
