Overview
Some events happen more than once or happen in more than one location.
For example, a 6-week beginner series may repeat every quarter and run in two different locations.
Multi-location and multi-date setup helps organizers manage those situations without creating a completely separate event from scratch every time.
When to use this setup
Use multi-location and multi-date setup when one event concept has multiple schedules.
Examples:
- A 6-week series in Location 1 in January, April, and July
- The same 6-week series in Location 2 on different dates
- A recurring workshop series held in multiple venues
- A repeated group class series with separate location schedules
Why this is helpful
This setup reduces duplicate work.
Instead of recreating the same event details over and over, the organizer can keep the core event information together and manage separate location schedules.
What to enter for each location
For each location, enter details such as:
- Location name
- Venue name
- Address
- City, state, and postal code
- Capacity, if needed
- Separate dates and times for that location
What to enter for each session
Each location can have its own sessions.
A session may include:
- Session date
- Start time
- End time
- Session label
- Series label
- Capacity
- Status
Best practice
Name locations and series clearly.
Examples:
- Dublin January Series
- Sunbury April Series
- Location 1 Summer Session
- Location 2 Fall Session
Clear naming helps staff, attendees, and organizers understand which schedule they are viewing.
